Jaguar used the 2012 Beijing motor show to announce a raft of new engines - including details of the V6 which will power the F-type and news that a four-cylinder, Ford Ecoboost related petrol engine will be fitted to the XJ. It's downsizing to the maximum. Jaguar’s new Special Vehicle Operations team has built an F-Type R Coupe to act as a support car for Team Sky on stage 20 of the 2014 Tour De France. The injured Chris Froome, who crashed out of the Tour earlier this month, is hoping to be onboard this weekend as he cheers on the rest of his Sky teammates. By a mile.
The Volvo XC60 is the next in line to get the R-Design treatment, and it will debut in September at the Frankfurt auto show. The R-Design brings sporty looks to the XC60 with a vamped-up style, a specially tuned sports chassis and a more direct steering gear ratio. The exterior resembles R-Design features on the C30, the S40, the V50 and the XC90.
